Over 200 miles of marked and unmarked trails will satisfy the needs of hikers. After a long day of trekking, hikers can camp out before continuing the next day.

The Loyalsock State Forest is in the heart of Pennsylvania's Endless Mountains Region. It covers 114,494 acres and allows for tons of fun recreational activities. Thousands of visitors come every year to enjoy all the Loyalsock has available. The activities mentioned are just some of what the forest offers. The sky is the limit!

Water Activities

With the Loyalsock Creek, Lycoming Creek, and many tributaries, the forest offers many water activities visitors. There is an ample supply of trout for fishing, scenic waterways for canoeing, and even Class III and IV rapids for kayaking.

Hunting

Hunters can find enjoyment hunting the wild turkeys, deer, squirrels, and black bears throughout the forest.

Winter Activities

In the snowy winter, the forest offers great trails for cross country skiing and snowmobiling.

Sightseeing

Gorgeous waterfalls abound, as well as rock formations and many types of flora and fauna. Numerous animals also inhabit the forest and visitors may see deer, black bears, wild turkeys, or otters.

Picnicking

There are many natural places around the forest to enjoy a nice picnic. The Loyalsock also offers a few shelters to host a picnic as well.
